Education: Claims University of Oregon as alma mater. Doctoral Degrees in Physics, Computers, other degrees in Mechanical Engineering, etc.

Profession: Inventor and Eccentric Trillionaire Genius (has “mad scientist” on her business cards)

History: Genius IQ; came from working class background, father was mechanic; while teenager decided to become an inventor and get rich so she could get guys; Has been married and divorced six times.

Appearance: 5’5”, a few pounds overweight (also undisclosed), brown eyes, curly brown hair. Not bad looking, but aware that she isn’t beautiful.

Dress: Wears overalls while tinkering, rest of the time wears what ever she wants. Doesn’t care about fashion.

Personality: Outgoing; aggressive; exuberant; work-a-holic; impossible is not in her vocabulary; adventurous, does first, then thinks about it; a little insensitive sometimes because she’s preoccupied; tries to be fair; honest to a fault; generous, sometimes too trusting; man crazy and cynical, but underneath there is a romantic streak; lacks social skills and comes across a little too strong sometimes; aware of her failings so listens to Sherman who has more common sense, and Wendell who is more cautious and sensitive to others. She doesn’t always take their advice, but she listens.

Special Likes: Twentieth Century culture, music, entertainment. Favorite movie: Back to the Future, Favorite TV show: Doctor Who, Favorite cartoon: Mr. Peabody’s Improbable History (is there a pattern here?); ethnic restaurants

  3. Cranes are among the oldest living birds on the planet. Fossil records place Sandhill Cranes in Nebraska more than nine million years ago, long before there was a Platte River, which, by comparison, is only a youthful 10,000 years of age. The landscape then was savanna-like and its inhabitants were more like that of modern East Africa; varieties of rhinos, camels, and elephants long since extinct. Yet cranes survived and watched as American bison, pronghorn, and wapiti evolved on the prairies. Humans now dominate the landscape having replaced the bison with cattle and the prairie with corn and concrete.
